BARÓN DE LEY RESERVA 2017 Estate bottled, DOCa Rioja |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
BARON DE LEY |
Deep intense purple colour. Classy, intense, ripe, plum puree nose with some complex, cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, gently spicy, intense, ripe, plum-blackberry fruit flavours with a lingering, rather cedary, fairly high acid, complex finish. Still quite youthful with fine mouthfeel, this fine 2017 is a 100% unfiltered Tempranillo which spent 20 months in new American oak and has 14% alcohol, 1.8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L146204-121 on the lower part of the glass bottle. It's ravishing when served in a huge Riedel 001 glass. You can start enjoying it now or cellar it for another 5 years or so. |
