Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CHÂTEAU LAMARTINE |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Complex, slightly spicy, attractive, intense, ripe warm plum nose with some savoury, sandalwood-cassis notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, intense, youthful, ripe plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, gently cedary finish. This mouthfilling blend of 90% Malbec and 10% Tennat has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1801 on the back label. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and cement tanks and the wine matures in a mix of older large format barrels for 12-14 months. This is the 4th and best Vintages release to date. |

TASTING NOTE: 90% Malbec, 10% Tannat. Dark, aromatic nose with black fruit pudding, savoury black olive and smoked thyme. Dense and complexly layered palate opening up to juicy acidity and classy tannin. Very long and full of energy. Score - 97 (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2020) |
