Tornatore |
Faintly ambering medium-deep red colour. Intense, very bright, slightly spicy, floral, ripe, raspberry-plum nose with some mineral-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, nicely structured, very slightly spicy, tangy, ripe, plum-red-cherry purée flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, dusty, sandalwood-licorice-tinged, crisp finish. Quite ready to drink. This crowd-pleasing blend of 95% Nerello Mascalese and 5% Nerello Cappuccio has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number LTR1813722 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: Wild rose, red woodland berry, graphite and Mediterranean scrub aromas mingle together in this elegant red. Made with 95% Nerello Mascalese and 5% Nerello Cappuccio, the lithe, savory palate combines finesse and racy tension that surround juicy strawberry, sour cherry, star anise and cinnamon before a flinty close. While some may find it almost too ethereally graceful, others will fall in love. Drink through 2025. Editors' Choice. Score - 93 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 1, 2020) |
