Private Reserve Rosé 2020 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer Peller
What a lovely surprise. While the LCBO is awash with tens of dozens of 2021s all begging to be drunk, here is a NEW in Vintages 2020. Patience counts and this is certainly showing better than a year ago. Very pale salmon pink colour with an elegant, faintly spicy, fresh, apple-apricot nose with some honey dew notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, very slightly spicy, ripe, apricot, honeydew and apple-winter-melon fruit with a lingering, well balanced, fairly bright, crisp,cantaloupe-tinged finish. This very tasty blend of 90% Pinot Noir, 5% Gamay Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier has a modest 12% alcohol, 2 g/L residual sugar and 5.9 g/L total acidity. It was whole bunch pressed, cool fermented and aged in (90%) stainless steel tanks and (10%) neutral oak barrels. Versatile and ready-to-drink with a screwcap closure. CSPC 28531

TASTING NOTE: A pleasing, vibrant wine with good poise and a notable stylish character. Lithe, balanced, zesty, and very well-made. It offers bright red fruit tones and would make a lively sipping wine or a nice match for a variety of grilled meats or veggies. This will cellar for another 2+ years. Price $ 22.95
