Tradición H Reserva 2018 DOCa Rioja
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer Hidalgo
Fairly deep intense red colour, the nose has that classic, sandalwood-tinged, ripe, plummy-cherry-cassis fruit with some hints of tobacco leaf and minerally warm red brick along with a touch of cedary oak. It follows up perfectly - dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, intense, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a a lingering, bright, complex, faintly cedary, gently grippy finish. An excellent value with great mouthfeel for just $19.95 - load up and enjoy over the next two years. It has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L12073 on the back label. CSPC 18933

TASTING NOTE: From an eighth-generation family winery founded in 1792, this wine is sourced from 70-year-old bush-trained vines and spent 24 months in a combo of American (70%) and French (30%) oak. Expect complex notions of red fruit, plum, dried currants, baking spices and grilled herbs wrapped in chewy tannins, and pair with grilled meats. Price $ 19.95
