ORPALE BLANC DE BLANCS GRAND CRU CHAMPAGNE 2008 With gift box, AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DE SAINT-GALL
Bright light gold colour with streams of extremely tiny bubbles. A remarkable, intense, attractive, complex nose focused on buttery, minerally-caramel, whipped cream and ripe, apricot-tinged, Sevelle orange. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, rich, intense, slightly spicy, effervescent, lemon-apple-hazelnut brioche flavours with a lingering, quite rounded but still bright, macadamia nut finish. Judging by the youthful condition of the cork, I suspect that this 100% Chardonnay has seen at least a dozen years on the lees (I am waiting to hear from De Saint Gall the exact date of degorgement of this batch with lot number LB971290 on the on the back label). Truly beautifully balanced and ready-to-drink. NEW in Vintages. CSPC 505917
