Tasty everyday drinking value from Portugal’s Dao region. Deep purple colour, the nose is fairly intense and slightly spicy with fresh ripe plum-cherry notes along with a touch of oak and black licorice. Dry, medium bodied and quite well structured with slightly spicy, bright, ripe, plummy-cherry flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, rather smoky finish. Ready-to-drink, this blend of 40% Alfrocheiro, 40% Tinta Roriz (aka Tempranillo) and 20% Touriga Nacional was aged in equal parts French oak and stainless steel for six months. It has 13% alcohol and according to the LCBO 11 g/L residual sugar with lot number L07816B22 on the back label. |
