(RESERVA) CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2018 DO Rancagua, Alto Cachapoal
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LAGAR DE CODEGUA
A REPEAT of the 2018 (**/**+) was released on June 26, 2021 at $19.95. Here is my updated tasting noted based on a fresh bottle just purchased at the LCBO. For the second time was unable to find “Reserva” anywhere on the bottle. It has a very deep intense purple colour and a rather spicy, fruity, ripe crancherry nose with some cedar-sandalwood, notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, fairly intense, dried crancherry flavours with a lingering, somewhat grippy, cedar-sandalwood finish. Aged for 8 months in oak, it’s unfined and unfiltered - 2,500 cases produced. It has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number CS18L2920 on the back label. CSPC 19248
