CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2019 North Coast
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer RAMSAY
Fairly deep intense purple colour. Very spicy, ripe, plum-cassis-cherry fruit on the nose with some some cedary, minty, candy cane notes. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, slightly baked, plum-cassis-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly bright, pepper-driven, sandalwood-cedar finish. This still grippy, rather fruity, seemingly off-dry, Cabernet Sauvignon has 13.5% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with L19RCS1 on the back label and L202891332N on the lower part of the glass bottle. I question the LCBO’s weird Vintages Catalogue tasting note that says that this is a lither red - an adjective that means “bad; wicked; false; worthless; slothful” Unfortunately, this North Coast Cab is not for my taste. TASTING NOTE: Crafted with versatility in mind, this Cabernet will have wide reach at the table. It has the dark fruit, savoury undertones, poise and structure to pair with lamb, and its restrained power gives it an approachable, supple character that makes it an appealing option for those who typically favour lither reds. This will cellar for another 4-6 years. Price $ 31.95
