| Late arrival and just recently assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This ripe, yet elegant, flavourful blend of 90 % Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot is quite accessible at present. Very deep intense purple in colour, it has an intense, faintly earthy, gently spicy, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis fruit nose with some sandalwood-mineral notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied and nicely structured, the slightly spicy, fairly dense, rich, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis flavours are followed up by a lingering, gently cedary, sandalwood-tinged finish. It has 14% alcohol and 1.8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L0241 on the lower part of the glass bottle. |
