NOTO NERÉ NERO D'AVOLA 2018 DOP
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer FEUDO MACCARI
Bright medium deep purple colour. Spicy, warm, plum-apple nose with some olive-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, faintly tart, tangy, dried plum-apple flavours with a very crisp, sandalwood-tinged, minerally finish. This Sicilian Nero d’Avola has 14% alcohol and seems much drier that the LCBO’s 9 g/L residual sugar. Has lot number L2801218 on the back label. Would pair well with a spicy, pepperoni pizza. TASTING NOTE: A polished, refined nero d'avola with blackberries, black olives and blueberries. Hints of stones. Fullbodied with a nicely formed palate and a long, linear finish. A cooler style, compared with the often jammy rendition of this grape. Drink now [till 2025]. Score - 92 (jamessuckling.com, July 1, 2020) Price $ 17.95
