This Vintages Online-Exclusive ordered on Thursday April 14 was just delivered today (April 19) at an extra cost of $13.50. This 2016 shows more elegance that the hefty, full-bodied 2015 (***) which received 92-points on October 31, 2020. When tasted side by side, the 2016 has a lighter bright straw colour. The nose shows much more finesse - it’s intense, gently complex and modestly cedary with mineral-tinged, ripe lemon meringue notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, very gently spicy, fairly intense, mineral-driven, slightly cedary, ripe, lemon meringue flavours with some peachy notes on the lingering, crisp, harmonious, nicely structured finish. This very tasty new blend of 95% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Sémillon has a lower 14% alcohol as well as a lower 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L0200017 on the lower part of the glass bottle. At $79.95 it’s definitely worth trying perhaps with a lobster bisque or rack of lamb..
