LADYBUG ROSÉ 2020 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
MALIVOIRE |
A REPEAT of the 2020 (**/**+) that was released on August 7, 2021 at $16.95. Here is my previous note: This popular Vintages Essential has a medium-light orange-salmon colour. Spicy, faintly honeyed, fresh, ripe, plummy-apple purée nose. Fairly dry, medium-light bodied, slightly spicy, gently juicy, fresh, strawberry-plum-apple flavours with a crisp, unoaked finish. This very pleasant, ready-to-drink, crowd-pleaser is a new blend of 47% Cabernet Franc, 46% Gamay and 7% Pinot Noir. It has 12% alcohol and only 5.5g/L residual sugar (not 11 as appears on the LCBO website) with lot number 1-27-01 on the lower part of the glass bottle. It has a hefty 8.5 g/L total acidity which keeps it fresh and balanced. Screwcap closure. |

TASTING NOTE: Malivoire is a local leader in sustainable winemaking. Fresh, zesty and bursting with red cherry and wild strawberry, this popular rosé defines \"food-friendly.\" Refreshing with charcuterie and olives, goat cheese on endive, or baked ham. |
