SIX EIGHT NINE RED 2019 Napa Valley
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer 689 CELLARS
This Napa Vally fruit bomb blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Petite Sirah is just a tad over-the-top for me - too juicy, too fruity and a tad too sweet. it has a fairly deep intense purple colour with a very cedary, juicy, ripe, black cherry purée nose. It’s fairly dry (15 g/L residual sugar) and quite well structured with lots of very juicy, rather herbal, wild, grapey flavours with a lingering, extremely spicy, herb-driven, savoury, baked blackberry jam finish. This is definitely not in my comfort zone, so taste at your own risk. It has 13.5% alcohol with lot number L21155 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 383976

TASTING NOTE: This silky, soft, inviting blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Petite Sirah is built to offer wide appeal, with easy-to-enjoy cherry, dark berry, plum, spice and earth. The 2019 harvest came a touch later than usual, and the longer hang time allowed the grapes to ripen evenly and fully while preserving vibrancy and freshness. Price $ 32.95
