This 18th release in Vintages is the best yet! Very deep intense purple colour. Rich, complex, slightly earthy, ripe, warm, plum-cherry-cassis nose with some gently cedary, sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, nicely structured, well balanced, intense, ripe, Damson plum and black currant flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, harmonious, faintly mocha-tinged finish. Outstanding value, this truly charming Bordeaux is at its peak of drinkability. Made exclusively from Merlot, it has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 17/1/21 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The winemaker states that this was aged exclusively in French oak for 12 months (1/3 new oak. 1/3 1-year and 1/3 2-years). BRAVO - the best value Bordeaux tasted this year. |

TASTING NOTE: Aged in a combo of French and American oak, this effortlessly elegant Bordeaux blend evokes ripe currants, cherry and spice. Look for all of these to make curtain calls on the lengthy finish, and pair with duck legs or lamb.
