JESTER CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2018 McLaren Vale, South Australia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MITOLO
Australia’s answer to those big, hefty, California Cabs that are so adored by American fans. Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, rather spicy, bright, faintly baked, ripe black cherry puree nose with some faintly smoky, tropical fruit cocktail notes. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, very spicy, intense, ripe, plummy-black-cherry purée flavours with a lingering, cedary, juicy, faintly smoky, mocha-chocolate-tinged finish. Ready-to-drink. This hefty, crowd-pleaser has 14.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number L20324 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. CSPC 43224

TASTING NOTE: Like its partner, the Shiraz, the 2018 Jester Cabernet Sauvignon is a terrific value for current drinking. It's less weighty than the Shiraz, appropriately medium-bodied, with fresh, leafy notes layered over cassis and cherry fruit and ending in a wash of softly dusty tannins. Drink date: 2019-2024. Score - 90 (Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com, Nov. 27, 2019) Price $ 19.95
