Bright medium-deep purple ruby colour, this 100% Gamay Noir has a bright, plummy, crancherry nose with some slight mineral notes. It’s dry, medium to medium-light bodied and quite ready to drink with fresh, crisp, plummy-crancherry flavours with a lively, seemingly unoaked finish. Fermented in open-topped wooden fermenters and stainless steel; 60% was aged in large French oak casks and 40% of the wine was aged for 8 months in smaller French oak barrels, before final assemblage. It has 12.8% alcohol, 3.1 g/L residual sugar and 5.7 g/L total acidity with a screwcap closure. The lot number LB6295-02 appears on the back label and 11551054L5 on the lower part of the glass bottle. A REPEAT of the recommended 2020 (**/**+) that was released on September 18, 2021 at $19.95. TASTING NOTE: This is a fine, lightweight smooth gamay that shows generous typical strawberry/cherry jam fruit, florals and very subtle spice. It is smooth and nicely balanced with firm acidity, modest 12.8% alcohol and almost no tannin. The length is very good to excellent.
