PINOT NOIR 2017 Martinborough, North Island
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LUNA ESTATE
This hugely attractive, Martinborough Pinot Noir is a a perfectly ripe, well balanced, cool climate rendition that simply seduces you with harmonious, ripe, plummy-black-cherry purée flavours with just a touch of raspberry-cranberry fruit followed up by lifted, lingering, very faintly herbal notes that carry on nicely to the gently complex, cedar-tinged finish. I ask, what more could you want for $26.95? One of the best value Pinot Noirs that I, have so far have tasted this year. It has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Juicy, ripe and ready-to-drink, it has lot number 17365 on the lower part of the glass bottle and a screwcap closure. CSPC 17544

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Fine, lithe, spice and perfumed regional Pinot Noir here. Cool red fruits, a subtle fern-like character, bright cranberry acidity, distinct mineral feel, light rasp of tannin, and a long clean finish. Raspberry freshness. So charming and easy to enjoy. Should age some, but so good now. Drink: 2019-2024. Score - 92 (Gary Walsh, winefront.com.au, July 24, 2019) Price $ 26.95
