JESTER CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2018 McLaren Vale, South Australia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MITOLO
Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, slightly spicy, intense, rounded, ripe plum-cherry purée nose with some cedary notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, fairly dense, slightly spicy, intense, surprisingly juicy, plummy, black cherry flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, bright finish. Perhaps not all the typical for a Cabernet Sauvignon, this crowd-pleaser has 14.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with a meaningless number L0001 on the back label and a genuine lot number L20324 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. The recommended best buy 2016 (**+) was released on November 10, 2018 at $22.95. CSPC 43224

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Like its partner, the Shiraz, the 2018 Jester Cabernet Sauvignon is a terrific value for current drinking. It's less weighty than the Shiraz, appropriately medium-bodied, with fresh, leafy notes layered over cassis and cherry fruit and ending in a wash of softly dusty tannins. Drink date: 2019-2024. Score - 90. (Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com, Nov. 27, 2019) Price $ 19.95
