DISTINCTION CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2020 VQA Niagara-on-the-Lake |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
TRIUS |
Very deep intense purple colour. Attractive, ripe, plummy-cherry nose with some minerally notes. Dry, medium-bodied-plus, harmonious, slightly spicy, fairly intense, fresh, ripe, plummy-cherry fruit flavours with a crisp, well balanced finish. Leather, smoke, spice box and/or vanilla notes were not particularly visible on the bottle that I assessed. This ready-to-drink Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in a variety of French oak barriques for six months. It has 14% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with 6.1 g/L total acidity. Screwcap closure. NEW in Vintages. |

TASTING NOTE: This wine comprises grapes sourced from Trius's estate vineyards and prime fruit from several growers with whom Trius has long-standing relationships. Aged in French oak for six months, it's ripe and rich with impressive dark fruit, leather, smoke, spice box and vanilla tones. A wine for lamb chops, this will cellar for another 5-7 years. |
