PINOT NOIR 2017 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

EASTDELL |
A freshly bottled fourth REPEAT of the 2017 that was last released on March 20, 2021 at $15.95. Just tasted from the newly shipped bottles shipped to the LCBO. Medium-deep ruby red colour with a hint of amber on the edges. Slightly spicy, very gently juicy, ripe, still fresh, plum-cherry nose with a faint hint of strawberry. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, slightly spicy, tangy, fresh, plum-crancherry flavours with a lingering, fairly crisp, well balanced finish. A very tasty Pinot Noir at a great price. It has 12.8% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number 02/05/21 on the lower part of the glass bottle and a screwcap closure. Storing the wine in temperature-controlled, oxygen-free, stainless steel tanks kept this Pinot Noir in perfect condition until it was bottled on May 2, 2021. Great with salmon and/or poultry, it would be an Easter delight. |

TASTING NOTE: Ruby colour with a faint tawny hue, the wine has a gently earthy, strawberry nose; it's medium bodied, dry, savoury, raspberry and red plum flavours; well-balanced and varietally correct with a fresh acidic finish. It costs $15.95 at Vintages outlets and works well with roast chicken or poached salmon. Score - 89 (tonyaspler.com, March 22, 2019) |
