HERITAGE COLLECTION CHARMED SPARKLING 2020 Charmat method, VQA Ontario
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MARYNISSEN
This tasting note is based on a bottle provided by the winery. Made in the Charmat stainless-steel-tank-fermented method with 6-months aging, it has a pricey traditional cork-capsule closure. Very pale straw colour. The pleasant nose is somewhat sweetish, spicy, honeyed and gently tropical with pineapple-tinged notes. Fairly dry, medium-light bodied, very spicy, fizzy, ripe, Muscaty, apple-melon-lemon flavours with a crisp clean finish. This ready-to-drink, crowd-pleasing blend of 72% Riesling, 20% Gewurztraminer, 8% Muscat has 11.5% alcohol, 15 g/L residual sugar and 7.3 g/L total acidity with only 4 bar pressure (58 psi) - fermented in the bottle Champagne by contrast usually has 6 to 7 bar (87 to 101.5 psi). This batch has lot number 2021 02 29 g on the middle part of the glass bottle. CSPC 25233
