ESTATE PARKE VINEYARD GROWER'S SERIES PINOT NOIR 2017 VQA Twenty Mile Bench
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ADAMO
A REPEAT of the 2107 that last appeared in Vintages on August 21, 2021. Here is my previous note. This new 2017 has a medium light pale red colour. When just poured, the nose seems quite volatile with some earthy notes along with spicy, crancherry fruit. Dry, medium-light bodied, somewhat tart, tangy, crancherry flavours with a lingering, high acid, very faintly bitter, cedary, faintly leathery-bacon-tinged finish. Not quite in my comfort zone, it has 12.4% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. If you are a fan of the freewheeling characteristics of orange wines, then this may be perfect for you. Meanwhile, Natalie Maclean gave it a stunning 91-points, while John Szabo gave it a sober 87. Personally, I side with Szabo on this one. CSPC 14269
