| I love the quoted reviews appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. This 90 pointer from from Canada’s own Natalie Maclean is dated months before the grapes were even harvested. What a clairvoyant! This is the 19th release in Vintages since 2008. It’s a popular, entry-level, old-fashioned style of Chardonnay for the American masses - bright, off-dry, juicy and toasty. What’s not to like? This has a bright medium straw colour and a spicy, tropical-tinged, ripe lemon-melon-apple purée nose with some toasty notes. Slightly off dry, medium bodied, spicy, harmonious, bright, ripe, lemon-apple-pear puree flavours with a lingering, fairly toasty, slightly leesy, tropical fruit slush tinged finish. This ready-to-drink, crowd-pleaser has 13.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with lot number 056201921L on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. It is $22.45 at the SAQ and only $10.95 in Albany, New York. |
