Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
AIRFIELD |
It’s $1 cheaper and a tad better than Coppola’s 2019 Chard. Bright light straw colour with a slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, nutty, ripe, apple-lemon nose with some cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, mineral-tinged, slightly spicy, ripe lemon-apple flavours with a very crisp, gently cedary finish. Ready-to-drink. Has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. |

TASTING NOTE: This wine was fermented 58% in stainless steel (with this portion eschewing malolactic conversion) and 42% in French oak, wherein it spent eight months before harmonizing for an additional month in concrete. The result is a round, velvety Chard brimming with crunchy orchard fruit and applesauce that'll go beautifully with pork chops or butter-braised scallops. |
