VINEDRESSERS RESERVE PINOT NOIR 2017 VQA South Islands, Lake Erie North Shore
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PELEE ISLAND
A REPEAT of the 2017 (**/**+) was released on February 20, 2021 at $19.95. Unable to get a bottle for assessment here is my previous note: Medium-deep red colour, this 100% Pinot Noir has a slightly spicy, plummy, ripe crancherry nose with some hints of sandalwood. It’s dry, medium-light bodied, slightly spicy, very bright, ripe, crancherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, very faintly toasty finish. Ready-to-drink, it would go really well with schnitzel. Has 13% alcohol and 4.6 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 325282

TASTING NOTE: A lifted nose of gamy notes and wood smoke mingle with aromas of dark berry fruit and black cherry. A rarin' to go, robust surge of palate flavours capture the senses with passionfruit, cranberry and red currant to the fore. The dry finish and aftertaste is lip-smacking good and lingers nicely with oodles of pizzazz. Give this a go with tourtière, porchetta pork roast or grilled medium-rare striploin. The price-quality balance tips well in your favour here. Drink or cellar. Score - 92 (Vic Harradine, winecurrent.com, Feb. 14, 2021) Price $ 19.95
