This Wine of the Month has a fairly deep purple colour and a fairly complex, cedar-tinged, minerally, ripe, plum-driven nose with some red licorice and sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, slightly spicy, tangy, fairly intense, very slightly tart, raspberry-plum-red-cherry flavours with a lingering, cedar-tinged, mineral-tinged, slightly grippy finish. Perfect with tomato-based sauces. This 100% Sangiovese has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L.41/21 on the back label. The 2016 (**+) was released on August 22, 2020 at $22.95.
