| Here is a reliable, crowd-pleasing, ready-to-drink Rioja that has lots of fans. Released annually for the past 17 years, it has a fairly deep ruby colour with a spicy, bright, very juicy, ripe plummy-cherry-blueberry purée nose with some gently cedary and faintly tropical notes. Dry, medium bodied, spicy, somewhat tangy, attractive, juicy, ripe, raspberry-plum-black-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, fairly crisp, gently cedary, tropical-fruit-cocktail-tinge finish. This 40/60 blend of Garnacha and Tempranillo is fermented in stainless steel and matured in barrel for four months. This ultra modern take on Rioja is a tad too juicy for me. It has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L3941 on the back label. |
