This late arrival actually belongs to the January 8, 2022 Vintages release. I was just able to buy a bottle and have included it in my February 5th release. This hefty, well structured blend of 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc has a youthful deep intense purple colour. The nose shows lots of complexity and class - intense, ripe, Damson plum fruit along with faintly earthy, cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, intense, rich, still-firm, ripe, plum-cassis flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, youthful, gently savoury, mouthfilling finish. Perfect with a rib steak. Has 13% alcohol a 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L.PP.1-15 on the back label. You can drink it now, however I feel that it would benefit from another 4 years of aging. Not NEW in Vintages - the 2016 was last released on August 20, 2016 (#416719). |

TASTING NOTE: Evenly balanced between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine, with its eucalyptus perfumes, is structured and shows its wood aging as well as fruit. With firm tannins and still young, it needs to age. Drink this wine from 2022. Score - 92 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2018) |
