MON COEUR CÔTES DU RHÔNE 2019 AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
J. L. CHAVE SÉLECTION |
Mon Coeur combines four terroirs located in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape region and is a 50-50 blend of old vine (20-60 years) Syrah and Grenache. This hefty, very well structured, Rhone offers great value at only $22.95. Extremely deep purple colour with an intense, complex, faintly earthy, ripe plum nose. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, solid and harmonious, it is slightly spicy with ripe, rich, plum flavours followed up by a lingering, gently cedary, sandalwood-tinged, fairly high acid, somewhat leathery finish. Great with a rack of lamb. Has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with number L190 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: This round, soft, ready-to-drink wine offers layered, tangy dark fruit with a sprinkling of black pepper spice adding depth. Ripe tannins provide good structure. A classic, approachable Rhône red that will drink nicely through 2023. |
