STELLA SAUVIGNON BLANC 2020 Vegan, sustainable, Marlborough, South Island |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
SOHO |
Bright extremely pale straw colour. Very youthful, intense, grassy nose with some faintly metallic, minerally, lime-apricot notee. Very dry, medium to medium-light bodied, rather grassy, still tight, tangy, fresh, apple-lemon-apricot-lime flavours with a very crisp, high acid, unoaked, minerally finish. Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. Need another year or some to evolve. Having said that, if you keep the open bottle in the fridge for a couple of weeks you will be surprised by how it improves by itself. |

TASTING NOTE: An outstanding rendition of the variety, the impressively expressed bouquet shows passionfruit, feijoa, kaffir lime and jasmine aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate that's stacked with delicious sauvignon flavours. It's pristine and bright with a superbly long juicy finish. At its best: now to 2024. Score - 95 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Aug. 2020) |
