STELLA SAUVIGNON BLANC 2020 Vegan, sustainable, Marlborough, South Island
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer SOHO
Bright extremely pale straw colour. Very youthful, intense, grassy nose with some faintly metallic, minerally, lime-apricot notee. Very dry, medium to medium-light bodied, rather grassy, still tight, tangy, fresh, apple-lemon-apricot-lime flavours with a very crisp, high acid, unoaked, minerally finish. Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. Need another year or some to evolve. Having said that, if you keep the open bottle in the fridge for a couple of weeks you will be surprised by how it improves by itself. CSPC 554311

TASTING NOTE: An outstanding rendition of the variety, the impressively expressed bouquet shows passionfruit, feijoa, kaffir lime and jasmine aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate that's stacked with delicious sauvignon flavours. It's pristine and bright with a superbly long juicy finish. At its best: now to 2024. Score - 95 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Aug. 2020) Price $ 22.95
