SÉLECTION OFFERUS SAINT-JOSEPH 2018 AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer J. L. CHAVE
This JANUARY 22 VINTAGES ONLINE EXCLUSIVE follows the 2016 that was released on January 25, 2020 at $38.95. Extremely deep intense purple colour Youthful, slightly earthy, ripe baked plum nose with some sandalwood notes. Very dry, medium-full to full bodied, extracty, slightly spicy, intense, dense, ripe plummy-dark-cherry flavours with a lingering, very slightly smoky, fairly high acid, sandalwood-tinged finish. Very nice length with dense, rich, mouthfeel. It has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L183 on the back label and definitely need 3-6 years to open really show its best. TASTING NOTE: The 2018 Saint Joseph Offerus is similarly purple/ruby-hued and has a tighter, more mineral-driven style compared to the Crozes, which is exactly what you would expect between these two appellations. Beautiful blue fruits, violets, flowers, and wet granite-like notes give way to a medium-bodied, vibrant, nicely concentrated Saint Joseph that shines for its balance, purity, and length. It will keep for a decade, although there's no need to delay gratification. Maturity: 2020-2030. Score - 91 (jebdunnuck.com, Nov. 19, 2020) Price $ 39.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
