COUTELAS CUVEE BRUT ORIGIN CHAMPAGNE Champagne
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer AD COUTELAS
This remarkable value Champagne is a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier made by grower Damien Coutelas whose family’s vineyards date back to 1809. It has a bright light yellow colour with an abundance of streams of tiny bubbles. The nose is attractive, harmonious and fairly intense with faintly spicy, floral, elegant, ripe, apple-lemon fruit with hints of toast. Dry, medium bodied, well balanced, bright, crisp, gently complex, ripe lemon-apple-flavours with a lingering, crisp, very gently toasty finish and very good effervescence. The base wine is vinified in vats with maloactic fermentation. It has 12% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar. Limited quantities available online and at France Destination Store (Ottawa – Rideau & King Edward). Tasted with Anne Popoff the importer and owner of Le Savoire-Boire.

A palate full of freshness with beautiful, powerful and fresh citrus notes. A lovely, long finish.
