CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2019 Lodi |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
IRONSTONE |
This is the 32nd appearance of this Lodi red in Vintages since July 12, 2004. Only twice in all these years did it ever score a high 87.5-points. It was mostly 86 to 87 points. Here is a previous note: Deep intense purple colour. Very spicy, cedary, baked cherry-plum-apple purée nose. Fairly dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, very juicy, spicy, plum-cherry puree flavours with a faintly sweetish, somewhat cedary, very spicy, slightly mocha-chocolate-tinged finish. This crowd-pleasing, entry level red has 13.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar . |

TASTING NOTE: Ironstone's ability to produce high-quality Californian wines at approachable prices has made them a Vintages customer favourite. This classy Cab is ripe and rich, with cassis, blackberry, herbs, spice and smoke. A great choice for a range of grilled foods; try it with lamb, steak, or slow-cooked ribs. |
