| A classically-styled Chianti with a gentle modern fruity twist! It has a very deep purple red colour. The nose is slightly spicy and gently plummy with some very faintly smoky, sandalwood-chestnut notes. Dry and medium bodied albeit quite well structured, the perfectly ripe, somewhat tangy, gently spicy, Damson plum flavours are followed up with a lingering, crisp, sandalwood-tinged finish. This delicious harmonious blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo is quite ready-to-drink and outstanding value. A real crowd-pleaser, it has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1/21 on the back label. The recommended best buy 2016 (**/**+) was released on January 23, 2021 at $17.95. |
