PINOT GRIS 2019 Marlborough, South Island
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KIM CRAWFORD
A FOURTH REPEAT of the 2019 that was last released on May 15, 2021 at $19.95. Here is my updated note based on a fresh bottle just purchased at the LCBO: Bright light straw colour. Very attractive, somewhat spicy, rather floral, faintly honeyed, accacia nose with ripe, honeydew melon aromas. Dy, medium bodied, harmonious, well balanced, slightly spicy, honeyed, ripe, yellow Mirabelle plum flavours with some hints of yellow grapefruit on the lingering, fairly crisp, slightly chalky finish. This new 2019 blend of 95% Pinot Gris, 3% Gewürztraminer and 2% Riesling was cool fermented in stainless steel and has 13.5% alcohol, 3.2 g/L residual sugar and 5.98 g/L total acidity. The NEW lot number on this January 8 shipment is L20068 and L010707 both appearing on the lower part of the glass bottle. Ready-to-drink with a screwcap closure. CSPC 369850
