CLASSIQUE LA CLAPE SYRAH/GRENACHE/MOURVÈDRE 2019 AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CHÂTEAU D'ANGLÈS
This 2019 award-winner has a very deep intense purple colour with an attractive, complex, spicy, intense, ripe, black cherry, Damson plum nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied and well structured, the rich, tangy, fruit-driven, plum-cherry-cassis flavours have some herbal notes and a touch of red licorice and sandalwood on the lingering, bright, somewhat grippy finish. Unoaked and ready-to-drink, it gets a solid 89-points. This blend of 40% Syrah for fruit and spice, 40% Grenache for roundness and 20% Mourvèdre for structure has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L21/126H24 on the back label and on the lower part of the glass bottle. The great texture relates to the fact that there was no fining or filtration! Superb value, the recommended best buy 2018 (**+) was released on February 20, 2021 at $18.95. CSPC 286484
