SUBMISSION RED 2019 California |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
689 CELLARS |
Deep intense purple colour. The nose is very juicy with lots of spicy, chocolaty, ripe, raspberry-black-cherry fruit with toasty-vanilla notes. Fairly dry and medium-full bodied with intense, somewhat peppery, bold, raspberry jam and chocolate-covered-cherry flavours along with a lingering, cedary, tangy finish. With 1,007 cases arriving in LCBO stores, I am assured that this will appeal to open-minded imbibers who are not encumbered by more traditional styles. This blend of unknown grapes has 14.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar and L21056 on the lower part of the glass bottle. NEW in Vintages. |

TASTING NOTE: This dynamic red blend incorporates fruit from some of California's top regions, including Sonoma, Mendocino, Napa, Lodi and Paso Robles. The wine was aged in French oak, lending toasty vanilla shading to a core of cassis, ripe boysenberry and chocolate-covered blueberry. Pour with marinated steaks or braised beef tenderloin. |
