UNSHACKLED RED BLEND 2019 California |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
THE PRISONER WINE COMPANY |
This very deep intense purple coloured California blend of Zinfandel, Malbec, Petite Sirah, Syrah and Grenache has a very fruity, intense, spicy, rather cedary nose with lots of ripe, plummy, black cherries. It’s quite dry, medium to medium-full bodied, harmonious and ready-to-drink with an abundance of rich, ripe fruit balanced by a wave of toasty, cedary flavours that show good length and decent acidity. There’s nothing subtle about this crowd-pleaser which has 14.5% alcohol, 7 g/L residual sugar with lot number 0215 2102 and 2120805 on the lower part of the glass bottle. It is barrel-aged in French and American oak casks for 11 months before bottling and is NEW in Vintages. |
