Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TEDESCHI
Assessed from a fresh bottle just purchased at the LCBO. This new 2019 has a fairly deep ruby red colour. Intense, very faintly smoky, slightly spicy, complex, plum-black-cherry-cassis fruit with some gentle cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, fairly intense, bright, quite harmonious, plum-cherry purée flavours with a crisp, lingering, sandalwood-tinged, fairly high acid finish. This ready-to-drink new blend of 35% Corvine, 35% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella and 10% of four other varieties has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number 2019 L5 on the back label. Not quite up to the recommended best buy 2018 (***) that was released on June 26, 2021 at $17.95. CSPC 984997

TASTING NOTE: Very pleasant notes of lightly spiced aronia berries and a hint of sous bois, following through to a medium body with lightly firm, well-integrated tannins and a long, bright finish, leaving an aftertaste of cherry dark chocolate. Serious Vaplo and delicious. Drink now. Score - 92 (jamessuckling.com, July 5, 2021) Price $ 17.95
