MARCENASCO BAROLO 2017 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer RENATO RATTI
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Renato Rattiís Marcenasco comes at a significant price with lots of sky-high reviews. Those expecting a blockbuster of a Barolo may well be surprised. Itís really all the nuances, shades and intensities of flavours. Take the colour - itís a gently ambering medium bricky red. The nose is intense, slightly spicy and complex with attractive, dried roses, ripe plum and red licorice notes. Dry and fairly intense on the palate, itís medium to medium-full bodied, well structured and slightly spicy with elegant, expansive, ripe plum and licorice-tinged, red cherry flavours with a lingering, surprisingly high acid, cedar-sandalwood-tinged finish. This seamless 100% Nebbiolo has 14.5% alcohol and 2g/L residual sugar with lot number L5120 on the front label. Tried in a variety of stems, the best is yet to come! CSPC 713479
