Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MARCHESE ANTINORI
Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, gently spicy, complex, expansive, fairly bright, still youthful, ripe plum-red-cherry nose with some sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, harmonious, fairly extracty, intense, gently complex, ripe plum and licorice flavours with a lingering, elegant, high acid, gently grippy, sandalwood-cedar-tinged finish. Truly great mouthfeel with a wonderful potential. This blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon has 14,5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. It's fermented in stainless steel vats for seven days and then transferred to French and Hungarian oak barriques for approximately one year before it is bottled and aged for an additional twelve months.
