LA BÉLIÈRE RED ORGANIC PAYS D'OC 2019 IGP Pays d'Oc, Languedoc, France
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer Baron Philippe de Rothschild
NEW in Vintages. A very tasty Pays d'Oc which is Mis en Bouteille by Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Extremely deep intense purple colour. Attractive, ripe, black cherry purée nose with some hints of chocolate and smoke-tinged cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly smoky, fairly complex, ripe, black-cherry-plum-cassis flavours with a lingering, rounded, gently cedary (?) finish. This versatile, ready-to-drink, crowd-pleaser has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L346689 #027 18 on the back label. It's a bit of a mystery to me as the La Beliere label was also used for one of their Medoc releases. CSPC 21190

TASTING NOTE: (Translated from the German): Cherry red with light violet reflections. Intense aromas of dates, balsamic and dark chocolate burst into the nose. Above all lingers a discreet hint of preserved blueberries. The tannin is well-defined in the mouth and the alcohol robust. The medium acidity lightens the intense flavours.
