Medium deep ruby red colour. Attractive, fairly intense, spicy, red pepper tinged, ripe, plummy-black-cherry purée nose with some some very faintly smoky notes. Dry, medium bodied, bright, slightly spicy, fresh, ripe, cherry jubilee flavours with lingering, harmonious, gentle cedar-tinged finish. Quite delicious and ready-to-drink, this tasty 2018 Marlborough Pinot Noir was recently bottled (lot number L21057 on the back label). It has 12.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. Not quite up to the recommended best buy 2015 (***) with 91-points and 13.5% alcohol that was released on May 2, 2020 at $22.95. TASTING NOTE: Sweetly fruited and fragrant, the bouquet shows spiced cherry, vanilla, hazelnut, anise and earthy mushroom notes, leading to a beautifully rounded and smooth palate that's mellow and lingering.
