ROCCHE DELL'ANNUNZIATA BAROLO 2016 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ROCCHE COSTAMAGNA
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is a modern take on the traditional “old school” Barolo style that shows finesse as well as power. Fairly deep faintly ambering garnet-ruby red. The nose is intense, slightly spicy and faintly leathery with some still youthful, licorice-tinged, very attractive, ripe plum fruit. It’s dry, medium to medium-full bodied, fairly tangy and gently spicy with intense, sandalwood-tinged, perfectly ripe, plum-cherry-cassis fruit and a lingering, crisp, fairly robust, faintly grippy, complex, licorice-tinged finish. Accessible now but will improve. Has 14% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number L3BR16/21 on the back label. CSPC 413484
