Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MAISON LES ALEXANDRINS
NEW in Vintages. This exciting, remarkably delicious, Crozes-Hermitage is not to be missed. It has an extremely deep intense purple colour and an enormous, extraordinarily complex, gently smoky, very intense, ripe, plummy-dark-cherry-cassis-driven nose with lots of cedary notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, rich, intense, dense, very ripe, faintly figgy, ripe Damson plum, cassis and black cherry fruit flavours with some faint dark chocolate notes that go on and on. Lush, harmonious and lingering, this is really showing beautifully now. This 100% Syrah has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L/81671 on the lower part of the glass bottle. TASTING NOTE: Juicy and ripe, with a still-compact feel as the core of fig and boysenberry reduction has yet to unfurl fully, but there's racy licorice root and anise notes in the background and good energy overall, so just give it the time needed. Best from 2022 through 2027. Score - 92 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Feb. 28, 2021) Price $ 33.95
