Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer RUFFINO
Assessed from a bottle supplied by the agent. This Ruffino icon offers reliable drinkability and pleasure. Deep ruby-purple colour, the nose is quite complex with slightly spicy, ripe Damson plum fruit and very slightly savoury, cedar-sandalwood, mineral-tinged notes. Dry, medium bodied, nicely structured, very slightly spicy, bright, intense, ripe,youthful, plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, sandalwood-tinged finish. This new 2016 blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10%, Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot was aged for three years in oak, stainless steel and concrete vats. It has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a NEW lot number L21029 on the lower part of the glass bottle. A REPEAT of the 2016 (***) that was released on June 12, 2021 at $49.95. CSPC 353201
