RESERVA 2015 DOCa Rioja
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BARÓN DE LEY
Truly terrific value. Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, cedary, ripe plum puree nose with some complex sandalwood, notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, gently spicy, intense, ripe plum-crancherry puree flavours with a lingering, rather cedary, fairly high acid, garrigue-tinged finish. Still youthful with great mouthfeel, this fine 2015 is an unfiltered Tempranillo (no word on any Graciano and/or Maturana) and spent 20 months in new oak. (American?). It has 14% alcohol 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L154103 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Drink now or keep for another 5 years or so. CSPC 958868

TASTING NOTE: This red offers a plush texture and ripe flavors, yet it remains graceful through the spicy finish. Plum, currant and fig notes are balanced by licorice and graphite elements, with well-integrated tannins and gentle acidity keeping this balanced. Drink now through 2025.
