Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Assessed from a bottle just-purchased at the LCBO. This engaging 2016 Corbieres is a fairly ready-to-drink blend of ripe Mourvèdre, Grenache and Syrah that was fermented and aged in tank with no oak. Very deep intense purple colour with intense, fresh, ripe, plummy-crancherry fruit along with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, rather crisp, slightly spicy, fresh, plum-crancherry flavours with an unoaked, lingering finish. Attractive, gently complex and quite well structured, it has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with a NEW lot number L20168 on the lower part of the glass bottle. A REPEAT of the 2016 (**/**+) was released on September 5, 2020 at $18.95. CSPC 15298

TASTING NOTE: Black cherries, crushed rocks, peppery herbs, and underbrush notes all emerge from the 2016 Corbières. Made from a tank-aged blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Syrah, it's medium-bodied, beautifully textured and balanced on the palate, with sweet tannins and true Corbières character. It's already drinking nicely but should keep for 3-5 years. Score - 92 (Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com, July 31, 2018) Price $ 18.95
