Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer COTO DE IMAZ
This 100% Tempranillo had extended maceration on the skins which lasted for 21-30 days during fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The malolactic fermentation took place in tanks prior to being transferred to new American oak barrels (225 litre) to age for at least 18 months. The end result is great. Bright deep purple-crimson colour, the nose shows lots of ripe, warm, plummy-black-cherry-cassis fruit with an abundance of toast and cedar. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, fairly intense, ripe, plum-black-cherry-cassis fruit flavours and a lingering, rather cedary, very bright, still fresh finish. It has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L219DU1 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 472928
